Don't let me go

Cruising the desert, by your side, hand in hand,
uncertain of the destiny, yet the journey, so lovely;
Walking the dunes, exploring as we go,
undaunted, unconcerned, of the world,
A fear of losing the moment creeps in, and I say,
"Don't let me go, ever".

On the horizon, we see a storm coming,
Wind blowing into our faces, we walk against the wind,
Summoning the odds, steadfast, we push ourselves;
Inseparable as we go, just like the wind and the sand,
making it feel insecure, of the bond we have; while she says,
"Don't let me go".

Is it love or the will, taking us miles against the odds,
Loving every bit of the stretch, hoping there is no end,
The storm getting stronger, pulling us apart,
We struggle to keep us together, with all our might,
Until the force of nature takes over, breaking us apart, and I pray,
"Don't let her go".

On our knees, we try to reach out, to each other,
The wind and sand blurring our vision, every ounce of me;
Crawling towards her, against the will of God,
Hoping to reach her, I stretch my hand, grazing her fingers,
The last touch, the last sight of her, wishing to go back in time, while I say,
"Don't let me go".

Giving in, I crouch, submitting to the force,
Tears in my eyes, while the wind won't let me cry either;
What was mine, isn't, anymore. Neither my will nor my wish,
Nor you, who I held closest to my heart, never to let you go,
I had a promise to keep, After all, I am human too,
"Don't let me go".

Every moment I lived with you, saunter in front of my eyes,
I feel you around, yet I miss your presence;
Alone I stand in the storm, unafraid, facing it, hoping to rendezvous;
This hot desert had never felt colder, piercing as ice;
Finding solace in the dreams we shared, After all, I am human too,
"Don't you let me go".

Beginnings

A starry night sky above, lambent city below
They stood atop, an edifice
Gazing at each other; nothing to forgo
For as long as it takes, at the precipice.

Her eyes, filled with love aglow
Her face, her hair, her lines, worthwhile
Countless words said; eyes of a doe
She could light up the night, with just a smile.

This windy night, sets her tresses astray,
He stops himself from keeping them at bay
Their hearts pounding, like horses pulling a sleigh,
Souls so glee, they could feel it sway.

A thousand stars play cupid around
They get closer and closer,
While the moon showers amour, passion abound,
The night gets younger, never, to get over.

Their hands entwined, feeling the warmth
Watching the moon, lingering by the lake,
Hearts lurching, they sailed forth
A feeling they shared, was wide awake.

The night was staged, for them, to perform
For Gods were watching, keen and agog,
"I think I like you", he reckoned; enticed in her form,
"I like you too", she vouched; their hearts leapt for a jog.

Closer they get, with their eyes half closed,
Breathing together in a rhythm divine,
Knees left weak; senses not composed;
Their lips brush, arms entwine.

The glimmers in the sky, start dancing about,
The wind plays music, swarming around
Moon smiles down upon the lake, gait devout,
A prayer sent out, for them to be bound.
